IN THE BEGINNING
Let me start this first post on a pretty honest note. About 3 weeks ago, my friend, introduced the steemit world to me at a mutual friend’s wedding. I watched his lips part, then jam and many times curve into his usual smiles as he went on and on about this platform – carefully dismantling some of the complicated stuffs on the platform – trust me, there are quite a number of them which I’m still trying to grasp. You could tell this was a project he was excited about and believed in.
In the end, he gave valuable tips to achieving desired success – don’t rush it; try to build meaningful followers/connections first. When he said this, I thought of this as trying to win the heart of a girl you love. You want to understand her and build a bridge so she connects back. Sorry for the digression.
CHRONICLE OF THE EARLIER BEGINNINGS
So enough about my good friend, let’s talk about me since this post is about me….right? #IntroduceYourselfThingy. We humans are social beings. Nature itself has done the very first job in grouping us into communities. Are you black or white, do you speak English, French, Arabic, Spanish or Russian? Falling to any of these categories confines us to a stratum alread. Most times, we develop strong desires to belong to a certain group, pursue a certain challenge, fight a special cause, share a particular burden, and partake in specific activities. These self-induced passion or at times society influenced urges also go a great length in determining the type of community we find ourselves. So, you can imagine how excited I was to learn of the uniqueness of the steemit community where you not only learn, network but also earn rewards for being involved.
I come from a country widely regarded to have the highest number of black men on earth; Nigeria. I’m proud of the beauty of the country and the heritage of her diverse people. I’m more proud of the energy, talents and resources of her hardworking young people. I am a public health enthusiast with a voracious appetite for knowledge. I enjoy quality local and foreign movies and music, the kinds with good messages to pass on. I would also love to think I enjoy every sports and games activities, soccer and athletics particularly topping the lists and one day I hope to travel the world. Yea, a young man is allowed to dream.
