Hello everyone. I prefer to be anonymous while posting on the internet, but I think it will be fine to introduce myself nonetheless.
I found out about Steemit about 5 months ago, when I first started to become interested in cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin trading. I think this platform is a marvelous example of how the blockchain technology will revolutionise and democratise the internet in the coming years, so I decided to try it out for myself. I am not very good at blogging, but I love intelligent conversations and discussions, so I think I will primarily be a commenter. That falls well into my old-school habit of frequenting (and moderating) internet forums.
Anyway, I myself currently live in Minsk, the capital city of Belarus, yet I moved here quite recently (about a year and a half ago). I was born and spent my early childhood in Russia, but I grew up and studied in Germany – where I was living for about 16 years (I'm 24 now). In addition to that, I am quite a frequent traveler and visit 3 to 5 different countries per year. I have the freedom to travel as much as I want and live wherever I want because I am self-employed and literally work on my own laptop. To be precise, I am a professional accredited translator and I translate between German, English and Russian. I also learn French at the moment and I know a bit of Serbo-Croatian.
I am very interested in linguistics and language learning, European culture and history, the internal politics of North Korea (yes, really), philosophy and many other things. I think I can offer an interesting perspective on a lot of issues due to my slightly unusual background, yet most of my opinions are widely unpopular, so I don't expect to be adored by the masses (too bad ...).
Anyhow, I'm looking forward to be a part of the community!
