Hello fellow human,
I’m Simon and recently I bought a property in Flanders, Belgium. Actually let me correct that, me and my girlfriend bought a piece of land with a little house on it.
If you’re familiar with Belgium you know that Flanders is a very urban area with a few green spots left. Most people just buy or build a house in a suburban area here. But not us. We love the outdoors and my GF actually grown up in the area where we bought.
Our dream is to develop this piece of land into a a small ranch and build a beautiful energy neutral home on it. The property situates on a so called "second line". It means that the house is build behind other properties that are adjacent to a road. So we have two small roads between houses, that's leading to each side of our property. So gardens on one side and farm land on the other.
As of today, we still have to wait a month and 18 days before we can move in. But we are geared up and planning ahead. The first hurdle we want to tackle is adjusting the current setup of grass land devision and put drainage in place for the horse track. We also have to rearrange the stables to a more efficient place. But more on that later.
Have a nice day!
