Hey Steemians,
I'm tinman80; I'm currently an IT manager for a college. I've been tearing apart, putting together & programming computers since I was in grade school and the days of MS-DOS 4.2.
In addition I study:
- Health & Nutrition
- Politics
- Religion, History of, the bible, and I'll dabble in other world religions.
- History
- Philosophy
Health and Nutrition because I've seen others fall to degenerative diseases, and I want to aim for optimal brain function.
Politics because I see many signs that indicate that our Society, culture and future are like a house that the termites have eaten up and all that remains is a paper thin shell.
Religion & the bible, because I believe that some Superior Being gave instructions to human kind ages ago. And the closer that a society followed the instructions, the more prosperous they were in the long run. As for the history of religion, it helps show where stuff was added on and so probably is not according to instructions. One example how how following the instructions increases prosperity is how England then the rest of the West had a great leap forward after outlawing slavery.
History besides having stories that no self-respecting novelist would write, is a method to understand the good and bad decisions of the past, and how they affect today.
Philosophy is a great tool for evaluating information for it's truth value, and Stefan Molyneux is such an interesting listen.
