This post should strictly be introductory, but it will be more. I hope i'll be pardoned. I will write also about my essence. By that, i mean to talk about what brought me here , what brought me to this life at all and the purpose i think i should serve.
By introduction i'll say my name is AKINBINU AYOTOMIWA CHARLES, known as TOMFREEMAN. I'll tell that i'm a diligent young man of 30 years based in Ibadan, Nigeria. I'm also a single Catholic Christian. But by essence, i'll say that there's more to me! I should tell "why" i am who i am. People should know my believes and values. I think this is more important right?
Sometimes this year, i watched a video post on facebook, it was rather brutal! A pair of South Africans were killing their fellow in the video. I was amazed when one of the bandits explained the rationale behind the wicked act. To him, killing and looting is normal as he considers it the surest way to livelihood since he's an illiterate. This really got me thinking...
How can killing be the best way to survive? Is conscience playing any role in the heat of the act? Does he even believe in 'karma'? If he's guaranteed wealth no matter his profession, will he still chose to "kill"? Can there be any intrinsic or extrinsic motivation that "gingers" him on apart from money? Hence my reflection: why do we do the things we do?
Why do we devote our early years to training to become sagacious engineers, only to resign to delivering 'compassionate' services in "cash areas"? Why do we have to labour from dawn to dusk, owing our soul to "the company's store" when all effort can not even settle bills? Why do we do the works we hate just to make the money we need? Why do couples and spouses have to cheat in relationships? Why is it difficult to be faithful even at work? Why do we pilfer our company's resources at the slightest "snooze"? Why do we believe that blackmailing and back-bitting of hardworking colleagues may be a springboard to our "strange" success?
As students what makes us accept settling corrupt lecturers in return for higher scores instead of unsettling their consciences by studying hard? Why do we continually seek immediate wealth devoid of hard work? Why do we live the way we live? Do we derive reasonable satisfaction in what we do? Have we ever wondered if we could live a better life?
Reflecting perfectly on our "why" would stand us out in terms of "choices" in life. It will make us develop rapidly into full human personality: we'll become better in parenting, relationships, academics, career, management, worship and service to humanity. This moral exercise makes us realise with "heavy hearts" that most of our hustle do not worth all the time and strength we lavish on them. Some things are more important!
We do not exist in isolation. Our life should be qualified by the values we share among our neighbours. Giving our "why" the best reflection would surely make us the best in deeds. Thus we'll be sensitive and sensible to our environment and stay active in its course.
My "why" of writing this piece is a manifestation of the intensity of the emotional disturbances running through my mind. I'm passionate about positive life style! I'm passionate about gaining financial freedom! I'm passionate about success!
I feel its my responsibility to make positive impact in any community i belong. I'll always preach against the idea that i should jettison the moral illness in my community in so far as i'm immune. I wont be better than the South African thugs if my neighbours' interest is far from my heart. I want to be a positive influence the best way i can.
As fate may have it i now belong to , a great platform that helps me learn, teach, preach and express myself in every way at every area of concern.
Joining the world through a friend of like-mind has been a great transformation for me. Thanks to

and
and the rest team for being supportive, registering would have been hell of a task.
Now i must give back! I will!
Maybe taking time to reflect on our 'passion" and devoting quality time for its development in our life could be our turning point...maybe building our entire career around that "art" or "skill" which brings us absolute fulfillment and satisfaction would bring about the change our society lacks as often said: "change begins with you".
Maybe "minding our business" would make us more productive and profer lasting solution to our financial struggles and our nations economic "malaria". Just maybe!
Those are probably my solution to our "why" in a world full of puzzles. What's yours?
