I have always been a long time Reddit lurker for years. It wasn't until I got sucked into the world of crypto currency that I finally got involved in the community. At first I was very shy but after awhile I realized how friendly the community was and it really brought me out a my shell. I felt bad though because I didn't have anything to contribute that was actually productive.
I realized a lot of my favorite currencies didn't have merchandise and saw a niche I could fill. Something other than generic bitcoin shirts I saw being made everywhere and posted on stores like Shopify. Encouraged by a very small number of artists I saw making their own custom works that looked hand made (good quality) and with some heart put into it I decided to look into how to screen print. It's been a fun couple of months and I've actually sold a bunch of shirts for me at least (<100) and made my own website.
Fast forward to recently I finally had my steemit account approved. I had requested it several months ago but must have been lost in the frenzy that was December. I love the steemit design so much and hope that it replaces the outdated forms of social media we use today. Users being rewarded for their content instead of being milked like data cows. The fact that it runs on blockchain is a match made in heaven.
I hope to contribute to steemit and make some friends along the way! Hopefully one day steemit will moon.
