Hi! My name is David Story. Some of my friends call me Captain Dave which I shortened to cptndv, and I have an odd obsession with the number 423 hence the name Unit423.
I am an artist and musician living in Phoenix AZ, where I sing for a glo-fi/synthwave duo called Ichi Sound along with my good buddy and fellow producer 
Our music is a fairly unique thing. Lyrically focused on the struggle of dealing with losing young love and rebuilding yourself after being broken down, all set to relaxing synth jams which contrast nicely together. Some of my main influences range from Deftones to The Doors, and I have a huge soft spot for female pop singers like Madonna. We have been at it for about 4 years now and it has been an awesome experience all around.
I also spend a lot of my time painting and have had the great opportunity to sell some of my work and know its being displayed in the homes of some awesome people. My aesthetic is hard to pin down but I would best describe it as emotionally driven pseudo-psychedelia that tends to focus on the overall malaise of the white collar young person trying to deal with an undying sense of misdirection in today's world. Hehe, yeah that's probably a good description.
Sometimes in life there come's an opportunity to be a part of something bigger than yourself and I feel like that is what interests me most about Steemit. A chance to connect with people of all types and work together to create something HUGE.
