All you need is to gain some skills and then to join some platforms. Now what you should learn is up to you. If you are inclined towards writing, take some online writing courses (even if you think you are born writer). Or, if you are interested in making websites, learn it.
Good thing is that all you need is an internet connection and determination to do something. Now you don't need anyone to pick you. You can pick yourself. You need need CNN, New York Times to give you a chance. Every platform is available to you. If you want to be a singer, join YouTube. If you want to be a writer, join WordPress. Or, if you want to switch you career, go to Udemy.com and learn something new. Thanks to the internet, it is that easy now!
