Hello steemians, my name is Jurica Brekalo and I am new here on steemit. First I wanna say thanks to my friend for introducing me to this platform and I feel so eluted to join this wonderful community. I'm 25 coming from Zagreb, capital city of Croatia. I've always had interest in "computer stuff" so my education reflected on that interest. I finished Engineering High School Ruđer Bošković and after that I graduated Computer Science on TVZ(Technical University in Zagreb) about a month ago.
I think my love for programming was born back in elementary school at one of the first IT classes. We were learning about QBasic, the first programming language that I was introduced with. As soon as the professor showed us the basics I was intrigued and wanted to know more, so I started tinkering with it a lot. Then I realized how much I love the problem solving part of it and it simply sparked! I got so into it that I started making mini-games for myself. The first thing I remember is trying to make a pacman game which at the time was very challenging and I found myself really enjoying the process to making it work. When it finally worked I was bored and started working on a new project just for the fun of it.
I used to play a lot of games, my favourites being Call of Duty 4, League of Legends and Hearthstone, where I strived to play on a professional level (had a really dedicated team back in Call of Duty days). Unfortunately I had to attend my classes, which made me stop and focus on the studies. Soon after that I realized that programming was the thing that attracted me the most and that it had a leading role in ensuring me countless hours of pleasure that those games offered me.
So why am I here?
I came here because I like to explore new things everyday I can and so when my friend told me about this site, I immediately made an account and started browsing through this platform. I saw potential and creativity this community offers,so I decided to contribute myself. I like the openness of the people here and that nothing gets censored meaning freedom of speech is respected. My goal is to share my knowledge that I've attained through my education and self exploration in a form of programming tutorials and anything I find useful and practical for everyone to be aware of.
