"I've done many introductions in the past, so this would be a piece of cake" - says me.
Hello there. I am John Paul Alferez from Cebu, Philippines. I am currently a Grade 12 student that studies Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Strand (STEM) under the Academic Track of the K-12 curriculum. Being a student who've done introduce-yourself-speeches every year, that was very arrogant of me. I can't really think of a way on how to make this introduction going on, but I'll manage somehow.
Well, I've come across Steem through good friend Kenneth (
I was a member of our school's School Publication, so as Kenneth. Through the countless seminars, workshops and contests we've joined, I grew and loved writing more and more. With the help of our loving and competent mentors, we ended up becoming an individual with pen-swords sharpened by experience and the stroke of time. I wrote bunch of poems, feature stories and articles during my service which I still do in my leisure time. Here is a sample poem I made:
Melancholy of a Lonely Man
The cup of life that once overflowed
Is now discharging as time rowed
Winter’s clearing a way for him
As his once radiant eyes grew dim
Oh what a lovely sight he’d seen
There stood crocodiles that shed tears
A tense heiress or two that fears
Strangers that act as his brethren
Oh how the man has longed this time
For him to hear their false shrivel
For him to know that someone cares
To an old man in his deathbed
Inflicted wounds will never heal
And scars may open and bleed too
But the wretched man chose not the woe
And lived with a heart in a seal
The seal’s already weakening
As the man’s end is approaching
No more bright days and no more rain.
He’ll never be deceived again.
Alas! The voyage has been blessed
The old man’s lonely heart is now freed
All that’s left is paying the fine
For living life is but a crime
I am a happy person and I enjoy good company. I enjoy meeting new people and I love being part of a group. Sometimes, I enjoy being alone. I enjoy many things that many people usually don't this days. For example, I like to be drenched by slow-paced drizzle under the heat of the summer sun. It just makes me think that wonderful things could happen along the way and being drenched while feeling our sun's heat is very enchanting! I love seeing the night skies unfold after a very long and tiring day. Watching the light of the stars as it grow brighter and further as time passes by is like feeling a firm grasp of a baby's tiny hand in your index finger - indescribable. I also love anime and TV series.
This should be enough to wrap my first post up. You will see more of me starting today. This particular day marks the start of my Steem journey. I hope I can find friends here. Thank you and good day.
