About Myself
My name is Achenyo. It's an Igala (a Nigerian tribe from Kogi state) native name which means goodness. If pronouncing Achenyo would be a hassle, you can just call me Goodness. I live and school here in Nigeria. I'm a freelance writer of storytelling. I've been writing and telling stories since I could remember myself. I remember vividly those nights when I would sit my younger brothers down and tell them stories.
Writing makes me feel safe, it makes me happy, and it gives me fulfillment.
Another thing I enjoy besides writing is reading books. I love how words form beautiful stories, and amazing people and stir emotions in me. I think writers are superheroes. One of my favorite writers is Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Akwaeze Emezi, Chimeka Garricks, V.E Schwab, and Khaled Hosseini.
My Personality
If I was asked to describe my personality, I would say simple, bubbly, jovial, spontaneous, and bright. I'm an extrovert and I love people. I enjoy being around people, talking, playing, and sharing ideas. I'm a social person but my circle is small because I'm too lazy to keep tabs on so many people and also because I prefer it that way.
One of my toxic traits is procrastination. I think I deserve a medal for being the best. If there's no looming deadline, rest assured that I'm not getting the work done. I tend to leave everything for the last minute. In my defense, I work better under pressure. Still, not an excuse and I'm working on doing things when they should be done.
If money wasn't a problem and I could pick any profession, I would be a writer and teacher. I read wide and far and I happen to have a vast knowledge of several things. I've never been stingy with my knowledge that's why I find happiness in sharing them with people of any age group, the young, middle-aged, and old. I have three young siblings so teaching is something I've been doing for a long time.
My Plans On Hive
Here on Hive, I plan to combine my love for writing and teaching and make something beautiful out of it. I would be sharing life experiences, stories and lessons, and anything I learn along the way.
