My Father is to Blame for... My Introductory post:
Who am I?
All I know is that I was born amidst the turbulence of chaos; musical chaos and I have my father to blame for this.
Even before I learned how to read and write, I started to enjoy the rhythm of King Sunny Ade's guitar and Fela's saxophone, blaring from my father's stereo. Yes, my Father is to blame for this my mad fondness for music. So if you see me walking on the streets with dancing steps when there's no music playing from without, please note that I'm not mad, I just have music flowing through my veins; Music from within.
Sometimes, when I try to ride on life's uneven tides, when I'm simply on survival mode, I forget my own name, but when the waters are still within me, I remember who I am, Yes! my name is Augustine Christophermary and this is my baby step into the fresh and still waters of the Hive.
I am a graduate of Philosophy from the Great University of Ibadan. I am currently a teacher here in Lagos. I teach basic science and music. In case you wonder what science has to do with music, think about what Albert Einstein says:
I am that kind of person who names his first guitar "Jessy" after his first love and his first Keyboard "Olivia" after his Second Love. I am that kind of person who loves black, ash and navy blue colours. I'm a die hard naturalist. Most importantly, it's not uncommon to find me on stage performing live music.
What drives me?
Good music and humour drives me; I just love to see people happy. I can bet that I'll put a smile on the face of a perfect stranger; this is one of my gifts. Moreso, I've come to see life as a teacher from whom I've learned so much; lessons dished out in pains and joys; in A minor and G major. I'm still her student. For me, the most important lesson is the lesson of sharing all that life has offered. However, life's lessons can be bitter sweet and the sweetest way to teach it is through music or humour. I don't take life too seriously. I enjoy meeting new people and sharing my music is an integral part of what fires me up on a daily. When you listen to my music and study my lyrics, you'll be sure to find truth.
Why Hive?
Finally, every river traces it's source to a sea or Ocean some where; I'm not a river yet. I'm a little stream which taps from
