So, the previous plan was - Stay anonymous, no introductory post, write a few articles here and there, sleep and maintain beauty.
‘Fortunately’, I heard introductory posts are a sort of ritual here, for credibility. So here we have it…
I am a storyteller, therefore, I’ll start with this story about a group of friends, the cool and gentle one, Tolu, the BBB + loud, Debbs, the sensitive baby, Ibk. Summy, the clown, and then we have Queen, the coolest of them all.
Heyy! Nice to meet me! I’m Queen:)
Officially, I would introduce myself as Oluwadamilola Adesina, but you might hear my siblings call me Nuella (coined from Emmanuella), while some of my friends call me Olori (The yoruba version of Queen). A friend recently started calling me Reina, and that’s when I learned it’s the Spanish word for Queen. Acquaintances and classmates from secondary school would call me a totally different name. One of the perks of being the first child, I guess.
The username drama.queen was just a result of the non-availability of the original choice, which is Queen. I promise I’m not that dramatic… well, maybe a little.
I am Nigerian (If you are a non-Nigerian reading this. Everything you’ve heard about Nigerians is as a result of bad press, except the parts that described Nigerians as cool. That is one hundred!)
I am unapologetically Yoruba. Ibadan - girl kinda yoruba.
Now, where do I start?
I am a biochemistry undergraduate who is enthusiastic about the application of machine learning in the bioscience field. I’m hoping to earn a doctorate in this field as a research scientist, though I’m sort of inconsistent with my learning streak for now.
However, I’m presently working on intentionality, consistency comes with it I believe (I hope that did not sound as nerdy as I thought).
I am a freelance creative writer, although storytelling is my favourite niche to write, I write political content, as well as technical articles. The beauty of storytelling is, it can be inculcated in these different fields.
Am I a nerd?
lol.
I honestly do not know anymore, but I don’t think so. Maybe a few years ago, I wouldn’t think twice before saying yes. However, for now. Well, alhamdulillah
Religious views?
I am from a Christian background born into a Christian home (not so much choice there obviously. I identify as a Christian.)
On the other side of this same coin, I wouldn’t be mad if I’m being referred to as a free thinker. I keep an open mind.
Let’s talk about hobbies…
I swear I’m not really nerdy, but my hobbies are about to sound cliche af.
Reading - Asides from self-help books and romance, I enjoy reading almost any genre of books, fiction, non-fiction, conspiracy theories, history, e.t.c (I welcome book recommendations in the comment section😇)
Writing - I am a creative writer and I do it because I love it. It’s just that act I can never be bored with, except when I hit the writer’s block point. (Don’t judge me! I did say it was going to sound cliche😉)
Interests?
I’ve got interests which include having interesting conversations (but I still do not know how to start conversations), meeting new interesting people can be fun, travelling to new/old places (historical, aesthetic, fun)... Oh! I almost forgot gossiping, this is a new interest, I find it thrilling and fun.
I think music is a general interest for everyone. I do not have a favourite genre of music. Any song you find me listening to is always dependent on my mood. If I were forced to pick a favourite genre though. Rap music!!!!!
*Favourite books, foods, colours, artists… etc.?
Books - This is a whole article on its own. Please look forward to my article on my favourite books so far.
Food - Weirdly, I don’t have a favourite food. I barely even eat; subtract 2 from my present BMI and I’d be underweight. Anyway, for the record, junk food >>>
Colour - No favourite colour as well, just give me a cloth that looks appealing on my soft and warm melanin-soothing skin. Colour black? pink? as long as it tightly fits.
Artists - As a music lover with a diverse taste in music, I’ve got a lot of favourite artists. I won’t bore you with a long list, but somewhere at the top of the top of this list, you’ll find Beautiful nubia, Brymo, Sia, and Joyner Lucas, to mention a few.
More:
- I enjoy controversial topics, most especially watching knowledgeable people on different sides of the page argue, while I sit and sip from a bottle of coke.
- I believe there is a difference between being smart and sounding smart, sometimes people that sound smart are mistaken as smart people. In my opinion, a good number of people that identify as smart fall in the latter category.
- I believe in diplomacy in solving issues.
- We can’t be friends if you don’t speak sarcasm.
- I went from being a completely introverted snub to an ambivert with more extroverted characteristics than introverted qualities.
Just so you know 😅

You can’t know me in <1000 words. It took me over 20 years to know some of this. Please follow me to know more. I promise to follow back.
Did you just whisper “It’s nice to meet you, Queen”
Oh! I heard you
Same here. It’s my pleasure
