Hello! My name is Adron J. Smitley.
I made my steemit account then started posting, but I forgot to "introduce" myself to the steemit community with the suggested introductory post. I don't enjoy talking about myself because I'm a writer and an introvert so I prefer talking about others, and usually by way of the characters I create. So this will be short and sweet... along with some shameless bragging because why not?
I've wanted to be a writer since I was a wee-little boy of nine. As of this post I am the "ripe old age" of thirty-eight.
I have a dog. Her name is Marley. She's a rottweiler. Sometimes I call her Marles Barkley because that's awesome. And sometimes I call her Gnarly Marley because she's gnarly and her name is Marley. And that rhymes. Logic.
I quit high school when I was fifteen years old because I was bored and, frankly, I wanted to work and make money. So I did. Saved and bought a house which I'm still living in and plan on dying in, hopefully at a much older age. I don't earn a lot of money, but thankfully I'm a minimalist. To quote Tyler Durden, I don't believe in "owning shit you don't need."
Presently I have nine books published through Amazon, and I am currently working on the tenth. My "best seller" thus far is a non-fiction book titled "PUNCHING BABIES: a how-to guide" which is a book on how to plot a novel or screenplay. My credentials? I've spent years dissecting hundreds of novels and movies because I fell in love with the structure of plot, then became obsessed with it, then had a salacious affair with it because plot is seductive once you know how it actually works.
I love learning and educated myself more out of school than in which is why I became so bored that I quit. My divorced parents didn't mind because my dad worked constantly to provide for his "other" wife and kids and my mother was too busy popping pills to really care.
Boo-hoo. I'm over it.
I also lift weights. It's great. Every workout is a small success, which equals motivation to continue and teaches you that a lot of small successes in life add up to larger goals eventually met-just like writing novels. Lifting weights makes me healthier, stronger, is a great stress reliever, and frankly I look decent naked. But I'm into powerlifting not bodybuilding because big muscles don't appeal to me but strong ones do.
I've chosen to post all of my writing on steemit because frankly I have zero social media presence other than a Facebook which I use about once every few months so none but a select few who are my friends and family are even aware that I write. Writing is my purpose in life. It's my mission and I chose to accept it.
I love science, animals, reading and, obviously, writing. And learning as much as I can about, well, as much as I can. Sometimes I play video games, but as I grow older I find myself enjoying watching others play them than playing them myself.
I have red hair, glasses, and lots of tattoos.
The end?
Sure. Why not.
Nice to meet you, and I hope you enjoy my posts :-)
If you would like to become friends on Facebook, which I hardly ever use, then click HERE and send me a friends request. I promise I will accept it... eventually.
And if you want to learn how I'm indenting the paragraphs on my posts which also don't have the big chunks of white between them, with justified text, I'm going to make a future post about the simplicities of HTML because after some perusal on steemit I can see that a lot of posters don't know how. Like all things in life if you simply apply yourself it's easy, I promise. I knew nothing about HTML before today when I first began posting on steemit. The learning process took me all of about 20 minutes with a few Google searches, and after reading my post it should take you less than a few minutes of your time.
