Greetings everyone :)
Wow, I didn't realise how difficult it would be to describe myself! I guess I should start by saying that my name is Samantha, and that I am from the beautiful country of South Africa. My biggest passion in life is sustainable living. I am currently travelling around Europe learning more about the world, different cultures but most importantly myself, who I want to be and how I can make a difference to the world.
I had a tough time last year. I was diagnosed with depression and it really forced me to take a step back and analyse my life and what I realised was that I didn't really pay attention to myself and what I needed to be happy. I knew I needed a change and I wanted to prove to myself that I could be this courageous, fun, adventurous spirit that everyone around me seemed to think I was.
So at the beginning of this year I decided it was time to make a jump into the unknown and challenge myself. I bought a large backpack & booked a one-way ticket to Europe. "This was my time!" I kept saying to myself on the way to the airport, leaving behind my 8 year relationship with my boyfriend, family, friends and my job.
I am now in my 4th month of travelling solo and loving every minute! For the first time I am learning to appreciate my own company! Something I never thought I would ever feel. I am learning a lot about myself, how to listen to my body and to work closer with nature. This experience is changing my life.
I am finally focusing on my real passion which is the environment. I have spent 3 months volunterring on an organic farm in Austria and have learnt so much about living harmoniously with nature.
The reason I have decided to start writing stories is so that I can share my new found knowledge with you. Information which I wish I had known about earlier. Including information on Veganism, planting, Biomimicry, travelling on a budget, meditation, Yoga, Zero-wate and minimalist living and many other interesting topics.
I cannot wait to share with you all that I have learnt and all that I am currently learning :)
