This is all new to me, but here goes….
Basics: I’m 77 years old and live near Lake Chapala, south of Guadalaja, Jalisco, Mexico. We moved here about a year ago after living in Costa Rica for 14 years near the surf destination spot of Playa Dominical.
Background: I grew up in Colorado where we moved a lot; I went to 13 elementary schools before moving to the north-central farming area for high school. After 20 years in the US Navy, I returned to Colorado to work in the aerospace industry where I participated in some very large-scale computer simulation projects. I finished my “productive” stages working with the dean of a local engineering school to promote international technology transfer and to re-train graduate engineers into the then-emerging field of computer science.
Interests: I like to travel, having visited the Azores, Ireland, Turkey and Tanzania in the past couple of years; I am looking at a European river cruise in the near future. A couple of years ago, a young neighbor got me interested in bitcoin and I became involved in the cryptocurrency movement, especially the developments such as the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance that seems to have a lot of potential.
It will be interesting to see how Steemit evolves – a lot of potential and seems to be headed in the right direction.
