This post is in response to an old post I made about why you should write a journal (https://steemit.com/motivational/@theartoftomas/why-you-should-write-a-journal-ideas-and-inspiration), there I recommended that one way to start would be to describe how your life is right now. Because I don’t want to be the kind of person that just tell people what to do but doesn’t do it themselves, here is my life how it is as of the moment of this post.
Unfortunately this prove to be waaaay harder that I thought it would be, given the fact that I am involved in so many things, I'm going to divide this into different parts to make it more accessible.
The problem with my life is that I am not living one, but several, as you will find out. Trying to move forward in so many directions at the same time can be quite challenging, if not downright impossible. I can’t help to go where my mind wonders, I find myself fighting the day to get more hours out of it, and loosing every time. However, you only live once, and I wouldn’t change a thing about my life… some more money would be nice though 😛
1)_ The Musician:
Busking
Yes, I am a busker, this is my full time occupation right now, where all my money comes from. I came to Australia with one idea in mind, I was going to play music and make a living out of it… or I would die.
I busk every morning just outside the train station, getting the morning working crowd. Around 10 to 11 am the crowd starts to dwindle and so I move on to Ciruclar Quay, a very touristic place, where the famous opera house is located.
_Storytelling
I started telling the stories of my busking adventures in comic style. Performing in the streets doesn’t reward me in dollars as much as I would appreciate, but it pays handsomely in anecdotes 🙂
I must admit is hard playing so many hours a day, every day, the same songs. But I also wouldn’t change it for anything else
Going forward
I started busking with just a guitar and my voice, but now I upgraded myself and got some gear, some power to make a bit more noise! Now is much more enjoyable and more people can actually hear me.
I would like to eventually get a piano so I can busk with that as well
