Hi everyone!
I have only come to hear about Steemit in the past weeks, but I really love the variety of people and topics that we can find here. So... here I am!
This is my first post and I am a pretty shy person, but I will do my best to introduce myself :)
I was born in Canada a little over 25 years ago, more precisely in the province of Québec. My parents raised me there, along with two other siblings; my older brother and my younger sister (yes, yes. I am the "middle child" - we will talk more about that later, ha!).
This is Quebec City - SO beautiful! (found on Google)
This is Montreal - I was raised in a city nearby (found on Google)
This is the city where I was raised - Granby (that's the main street, in the winter) (found on Google)
Anyway, being raised in the only official French-speaking province of an entire country is pretty interesting. For the most part, it seems that we are closed off from the rest of the country given the language aspect as well as a lot of cultural differences. Although for me, it was slightly different - my mother is a native French speaker and my father is a native English speaker. So my upbringing was influenced by English cultural aspects, more so than my friends and classmates.
I honestly think that this important part of my childhood, being raised in a bilingual household, has greatly helped open my mind the to rest of the world; and feed my curiosity, too! My parents always encouraged me to be that way since I was very young.

Later in life, around 19 years of age, I decided to move across the country to the West, in Alberta. It was a very bold move, considering I have no family in this area - at all! But, you know, sometimes you just have to do something crazy! I have now lived here for 6 years and I am absolutely at peace with this decision. I will definitely talk more about the HUGE transition and adaptation that came with making this decision in future posts since it was such an influential time in my life and it really shaped me.
I still visit my family once in a while, of course. And I keep in touch with them on a regular basis, but I am definitely the most independent of all three kids.
So, I am just a French Canadian girl, trying to make it in the West. I work in the administrative field and I managed to make a few friends and I even found love. I think I made a pretty good choice of life so far!
This is me and my boyfriend, Bryan, during our trip to Vancouver last summer (highly recommend everyone to visit there!
Another one just cause I'm tacky...
This is the city where I live now, Edmonton (found on Google)
I am pretty nerdy and love to play video games, watch anime (yep!) and read an write articles (which I usually don't post). Oh! And I also love cats - I have a cat named Luna (see picture below . )
This is Luna the cat .
Anyway, I hope this post didn't bore you out of your mind! I'm looking forward to sharing many more posts with you soon :D
Thanks so much for reading!
Cheers!
