I'm writing a series on 5 coins (in no particular order) that I believe have big growth potential in 2018 and beyond, along with my reasoning. Part 2 is about FunFair!
What is it?
From FunFair's website:
"FunFair is a revolutionary blockchain technology platform that enables anyone, anywhere to create an online casino in seconds. Thanks to the Ethereum blockchain and protocol, our casinos are easier to create, cheaper to run, faster and fairer to play, and can reach more players across the world than any other platform."
You can see the latest version of FunFair's prototype platform here, which at the time of writing has 12 casino games.
The advantages FunFair brings are:
- Anyone can create their own online casino using FunFair's technology.
- Deposits and withdrawals are almost instant. In comparison, online casinos using fiat today will take 3-5 days to process a withdrawal, sometimes with a fee.
- Transparent. All payouts can be verified via Ethereum smart contracts on the blockchain.
- Secure, due to decentralized serverless technology.
- Low transaction cost thanks to FunFair's development of revolutionary "Fate Channels", where the only transactions on the blockchain occur at the start and end of the gaming session.
Justification for investing
- The global online gambling industry is huge, worth $39bn in 2015, and growing year-on-year. By 2020 it's predicted to grow to almost $60bn!. FunFair could take a decent slice of that pie given the advantages it brings!
- Their functional prototype has 12 games so far, is well-built and constantly being updated (currently at v0.2.0.2917-release).
- Ran by a team that has prior experience in the gaming & gambling industries.
- The FunFair team are transparent enough to interact frequently with members in their Telegram group.
Competitors/Possible risks
FunFair's main competitor* is Edgeless which is currently sitting at a price of 1.67 USD. Considering FunFair has 12 functioning games and Edgeless only has one, I think at this stage FunFair is undervalued.
*Some may even argue that FunFair doesn't have competitors, as they aren't actually a casino - they simply licence their technology to others who wish to run online casinos!

Current price is $0.099 as of January 21st 2018. All-time high of $0.19 in December 2017.
Predicted Price by January 1st 2019
It's very difficult to predict as this is a ground-breaking concept with new technology. However, we can look at "competitors" such as Edgeless for guidance. The EDG token hit a high of $3.04 in December
I am going to be a little more conservative than that with my prediction of FunFair, but I'm still predicting a 20x growth on today's price by the start of 2019, so $2 is my target price. Even if it doesn't get there, at less than 10 cents, is there a more exciting crypto investment around today?
