Many think the rich have some type of insight when it comes to investing. The truth of the matter is that they do not. Instead, they follow some proven principles which end up enriching their accounts over time.
Few of the wealthiest on the Forbes list got their wealth from investing. They earned it in other areas and use investing as a way to keep it growing.
One of the main prinicples is they do not try to hit the long ball. In other words, their expectations are in line with historic returns. They are not looking for an annual 25% return in the markets considering Warren Buffet, thought by many to have the best returns over a long period of time, average 17% in his Bershire Hathaway fund.
