Every coin is down right now, a lot of money is moving to bitcoin or to cash (fiat) for the transition. This clearly drives the prices down. I am going the other way. I am buying up the low priced alt coins, including steem, this is all going to turn around. We have another bump in the road in November, so this drama is not over yet...

Simple answer, buy steem. Spend what you can AFFORD to spend. In other words, money you DON'T need and WON'T need anytime soon. My sister has a very large jar of quarters on her mantlepiece. That kind of money. Make sense?
