The price of Steem experienced a large amount of volatility in 2018. The price of Steem was around $1 usd to Steem at the end of 2017. At the beginning of 2018 Steemit experienced a large bull run with price surging to nearly $10 dollars. The price experienced high volatility during the month of February and then began to settle down during the month of March. After this highly volatile start to the year, the Steem price settled down for a period. The month of may brought about a second, minor, bull run bringing the price back up to $4 dollars. The price continued on it’s descent during the months of June and July, bringing us closer to our current price of approximately eighty cents. The current position is the lowest price the crypto coin has seen since November of 2017. Remember, the low of last year was quickly followed by the new all time high that we experienced in January of 2018 with the price of the cryptocurrency reaching an all time high of $8.57 dollars per coin. While it is important to remember the inherent volatility and seeming randomness of the price of cryptocurrencies, we are experiencing similar market conditions to the ones that existed in the months leading up to this years all time high. Expect to see potential further decline in the Steem price before any major correction to occur.
