Now the charging station for electric vehicles in the Netherlands uses IOTA technology, called Tangle, for wireless communication between cars.
The ElaadNL project is the solution of Dutch network operators, which, with the help of solar and wind power, charges the electric cars through the network for the IOTA cryptocurrency.
The station is located on the campus of Arnhems Buiten, which is a test site in the business park. The park is open to the public, where anyone can access the charger based on the blockroom.
The technology developer even presented a small part of the code for review:
"SEEING THE POTENTIAL OF DECENTRALIZED TECHNOLOGIES, WE THOUGHT:" IS IT POSSIBLE TO INTEGRATE THE TECHNOLOGY INTO THE CHARGING STATION? CAN WE USE THE DEVELOPMENTS WITH THE HELP OF INTELLIGENT NETWORKS, AND HOW TO GET THE MOST FROM RENEWABLE ENERGY IN SUCH A SYSTEM? " , - ELAADNL PROJECT DEVELOPER, HARM VAN DEN BRINK (ENG., HARM VAN DEN BRINK) REPORTED.
The charging station has the following characteristics:
"Charging based on kWh";
Own IOTA-application for charging;
"Measurement warehouse kW / h" , similar to the odometer of the car.
Charger from IOTA is built on the basis of open source technology Tangle.
Tangle is an internal protocol that functions without dependence on the generation of blocks and miners, providing "safe data transfer", as well as free of charge micropayments.
And here is the station itself, which charges the mini-Tesla:
"CHARGING AN ELECTRIC CAR IS ONE OF MANY APPLICATIONS WHERE IOTA ACTS AS THE MAIN TRANSACTIONAL CALCULATION PROTOCOL. THE WORK OF THE ENEXIS TEAM IN THE CREATION OF THE WORLD'S FIRST CHARGING STATION FOR ELECTRIC CARS BASED ON IOTA WAS LARGE-SCALE. IT WILL SERVE AS A BASIS FOR THE WIDER USE OF IOTA IN EVERYDAY REALITIES, "SAID IOTA CO-FOUNDER DOMINIK SCHIENER.
