At the time, I didn't see the point. It was a large iPhone without most of the benefits. I remember another meme at the time with a phone handset connected I got a kick out of.
I've since come to terms with the iPad, although I rarely use it. It is still a very crippled desktop computer working at greatly reduced efficiency, so it doesn't offer a whole lot that I don't get from the iPhone.
My son uses one of my old iPads and loves it, but more and more of the games have become pay to win and free to play.
