Today's portrait is of Adam Back, author of Hashcash, a Proof of Work algorithm, proposed in 1997, used in E-mail to block spam; this system was cited as inspiration for the mining of Bitcoin and other cryptos.
Now, though, many blockchains want to get over this method, now considered heavy and a bit old, and pass to a Proof of Stake system, where validators , that own a certain amount of coins (Stake) can validate block transactions: we are all waiting for this transformation in the Ethereum blockchain, like announced by Vitalik Buterin himself.

Oggi però molte blockchain vogliono superare questo sistema, ritenuto pesante e un po' antiquato, e passare ad un metodo Proof of Stake, dove dei validatori che detengono una determinata quantità di monete (Stake) possano validare i blocchi di transazione; stiamo tutti aspettando questo passaggio nella blockchain di Ethereum come annunciato dallo stesso Vitalik Buterin.
