I read 's post yesterday - Who's Up For A January Writing Streak? – where he proposed a community-wide challenge to write a post every day in January with the optional tag #januarystream.
I like the idea for a few different reasons and thus thought it was worth sharing it in the hope of giving it some more attention and participants. I will at least be participating myself, despite having a poor track record of consistency in my posting😛 (So be warned that there may be more shit-posting than usual).
#Januarystreak is a community initiative started by to see who's up for trying to write a Hive post every day in January.
The idea is as simple as it sounds: Write a post every day in January. You can use the tag #januarystreak if you want, and maybe that will help you get some more views and thus likes on your post.
Good way to start a new year
Every time I’ve moved to a new physical location, I’ve seen it as a good opportunity to let go of certain old habits that I would rather be without and replace them with new ones better at promoting the life I want to live. Likewise, a new calendar year is an opportunity to make changes for the better. Or at least so people promise themselves.
I am sure there is a lot of you who have made a new year’s resolution to write more, hustle more, earn more, etc. But while big goals and targets can feel inspiring, it is the small things done with consistency and persistence that are the big things.
So starting small and doing something simple like a post per day the first month is likely a good way to get going for bigger success in 2022. It usually is the first few days that are the most difficult. Once a new habit or routine is established, keeping it up is relatively easy. This is why I loved the idea of starting the year with a post every day for a month! Get the momentum going with something small, yet beneficial!
Can't help but support and participate in community challenges
I’m also a fan of basically any community-led “challenges” and motivational activities to get activity and engagement going. We are a decentralized social network without a central company or organization as the owner. We are the owners. So it's on us to help make a network effect happen, attract more people, retain and educate users, and make the user experience positive enough that it results in further network effect. Community-led challenges and other fun activities are a great way of doing this. So I intend to participate whenever I can, and hope you will do it as well.
So, will I see your post show up in the #januarystreak tag? And can we make it a trend?
