Due to the brevity of the topic. I was gonna share this on Facebook,
but have almost completely withdrawn
so I thought it would be a shame to dive back in too much.
Anyway, I was cleaning the house and came across this racist hot pot ordering me to cook today. So #triggered right now! Ugh!
Not only is it racist, it seems to be sexist as well! As I turned to continue cleaning, I could have sworn I heard it say “That’s right, whity, get back in the kitchen where you belong.”
On second thought, the message could be prescriptive in nature. Like, how do we solve this problem? I know! Cook whity.
Almost 8 years here in Japan and still getting a kick out of the “Japanglish.”
Thanks for stopping by. Of course this is all in good fun and it’s not really racism, for those a bit slow on the take. All the same...
I’ve got my eye on that pot...
