ミスチル''Tomorrow never knows'' PVの撮影地巡り～ Behind the scene of ''Tomorrow never knows'' , Mr. Children's best selling single

皆さん、こんにちは。
皆さんは、Mr. Children の ''Tomorrow never knows'' という歌を知っていますか？1994年の11月にリリースされた彼らの6枚目のシングルです。この曲はミリオンセラーとなり大ヒットしました。まさしくミスチルを代表する曲です。若いSteemianの方はまだ生まれていないでしょうね。

Mr. Children は1989年にバンドを結成し、1992年にメジャーデビューしました。 もう20年以上も第一線で活躍しています。

実はこのPVを撮影したのがオーストラリアなのです。メルボルンのシティとオーストラリアの国家遺産であるグレート・オーシャンロードという地で撮影されています。

最初のシーンはメルボルンの街中です。The first scene was shot in Melbourne CBD.

メリーゴーランドに乗っているシーンはこの1912年に開園した｢Luna Park｣という遊園地の中で撮影されています。
The scene of riding on a carousel was shot at Luna Park in St. Kilda, Melbourne. It's an amusement park where was opened in 1912.

海沿いの桟橋は、シティの近くにあるSt. Kilda(セント・キルダ) というビーチ沿いの桟橋で撮影されたと思います。ここには幾つか桟橋があるので、PVの中の桟橋と下の写真の桟橋は違うかもしれません。このビーチはいつも観光客やローカルの人で賑わっています。

その次は、長距離列車に乗っているシーンです。

これは現在の車輌です。24年前とだいぶ違いますね。周りには何もない田舎を走ります。

そして最後のサビのシーンはグレートオーシャンロードの最大の観光地、｢Twelve Apostles (十二使徒)｣のそばにある断崖絶壁の上から撮っています。あの頃はドローンがなかったので、ヘリコプターを飛ばして撮影したようです。ここに初めて行った時は、あまりにも壮大で美しくて言葉が出ませんでした。
