There is a love that is the love directed toward the things of the world, and there is a love that comes from above (Agape), this is what Lord Jesus taught us in the doctrine of the Kingdom of God: two loves, two paths. When the love of the natural man which is the love of money, prevails in a society, as the apparent goods are the subject of litigation and dispute between men, injustice and oppression arise.
That is why Jesus warned his disciples that whoever wants to follow his example, and the love from above, which is progressive and benevolent love, must be prepared for the trials and difficulties of the world, such as injustice, persecution, and oppression:
"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you" John 15:18-19.
Those who follow Jesus live in the world but are not of it, because they do not go after the goods that the world values, those who follow Jesus do not go for a petty selfish gain, those who live according to the world always mark "this is yours" and "this is mine". But when the love from above penetrates us, it is when we understand not "that this belongs to such and such" but that "everything belongs to everyone".
It is true that we are all selfish at some point, even the most enlightened and wisest people, but the truth is that concupiscence makes all problems conflictive and particularly hatred; which is what Jesus mentions to us in the gospel, the kingdom of god is against error and sin. Face selfishness, anger, and oppression with the spiritual goods that God gave us, such as mercy (compassion, kindness, gentleness), piety (constancy, firmness, devotion), and perseverance; this is what Jesus commands us, this is the spiritual warfare between those who belong to the world and the forces of the darkness, and those who belong to the light and the most perfect and high.
