وأبلغ اللاعب البالغ عمره 32 عاما، والذي أحرز 37 هدفا في 98 مباراة مع المنتخب، وهو اللاعب الياباني الوحيد الذي هز الشباك في 3 نسخ لكأس العالم، شبكة ابيما التلفزيونية أنه ليس جاهزا للاعتزال الآن.
وأضاف: "أتمنى اللعب في أولمبياد طوكيو بعد عامين وسأواصل اللعب".
ويستطيع كل منتخب اختيار ثلاثة لاعبين فوق 23 عاما في تشكيلته المشاركة في الأولمبياد.
Honda dreams of ending his career at the Tokyo Olympics
Keisuke Honda took part in his last game against Japan last month at the World Cup, but the former Milan player said he would like to add a charming touch to his international career by participating in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
The 32-year-old, who scored 37 goals in 98 games for the national team, the only Japanese player to score in three World Cups, told Abima television that he was not ready to quit now.
"I hope to play at the Tokyo Olympics two years later and I will continue to play."
Each team can choose three players over 23 years in its Olympic team.
