Basic Health Research Results in 2018 by the Health Research and Development Agency show that various health development indicators have increased, but there are also indicators that need to be continually improved and improved.
In the framework of the 54th National Health Day, RI Minister of Health (Menkes) Nila Moeloek asked the public to be aware of all types of diseases.
"Indonesia is now facing an epidemiological transition. Regarding diseases, we face three burden of diseases, "said Minister of Health Nila.
The three burden of the disease is first, the transmission of infectious diseases has shifted towards non-communicable diseases, such as heart disease, kidney failure, diabetes, cancer, and so on.
Second, there are new threats of infectious diseases, such as bird flu, ebola, and drug resistant TBC. Third, the community is still faced with the problem of unfinished infectious diseases, such as Dengue Fever, TB, Malaria, HIV / AIDS, Filariasis, and Worms.
Regarding nutrition issues, Indonesia faces a double burden of nutition problem. On the one hand Indonesia faces an undernutrition problem (malnutrition, short / stunting, and thin), on the other hand Indonesia has been faced with the problem of overnutrition, namely the problem of obesity / overweight.
Meanwhile, the stunting rate in infants has fallen from 37.2 per year in 2013 to 30.8 per cent in 2018. This is in line with improvements in several indicators of Mother and Child Health, such as antenatal care, childbirth by health workers, postpartum care, and health services for infants and toddlers.
On the other hand, indicators of Non-Communicable Diseases have shown an increase in terms of incidence. Diabetes prevalence based on blood tests has increased from 6.9 percent in 2013 to 8.5 percent in 2018, Hypertension based on blood pressure measurements has increased from 25.8 percent in 2013 to 34.1 percent in 2018. Behavior smoking in adolescents also increased from 7.2 percent in 2013 to 9.1 percent in 2018.
As a form of prevention, the behavior of healthy living in the community still needs to be improved. The results of the 2018 Riskesdas show that the behavior of eating enough fruits and vegetables, namely 5 servings per day according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO), has only reached 5 percent.
Meanwhile, the behavior of physical activity also needs to be improved, because there are still 33.5 percent of the population over 10 years of age whose physical activity is lacking.
"I hope that the Community Movement for Healthy Living and Healthy Indonesia Program with a Family Approach can be implemented more operationally and concretely in the midst of the community," said Minister of Health.
He also asked health officials and also across sectors to use data and information on the Healthy Family data collection as the basis for interventions both in the health sector and across sectors in order to resolve health problems thoroughly at the family level.
