Today I posted about my job, electroplating,
Electroplating means a process of applying a thin film of metal by means of electrochemical process. Electrochemical because it is concerned with electrical energy and chemical energy.
before plating first im going to clean the items then put an auxiliary cathode to prevent pittings.
Then hang up in the plating rod
Then soaked in the alkaline cleaner for about 10 to 15 minutes .alkaline used to removed oil and buffing residues.Then placed the into electrolytic cleaner, electrolytic cleaner used also to removed oil and buffing residues by means of electricty. After then rinse with 5% solutions of sulfuric acid for totally cleaned all the items.
All items are totally cleaned then start to nickel plating.
After 15 minutes all items are now nickel plated.
removed all the auxiliary cathode,then continue to silver plating and sealer chromate.
Finished plating on nickel and silver
