Applications for unemployment benefits fell to lowest in the last 45 years in US. Though data for this analysis is estimated in several states, but as per Labor Department numbers of claims dropped 41,000 to a seasonally adjusted 220,000 for the week ended Jan. 13.
These numbers are not bases to show the health of labor market as claims for California, Arkansas, Kentucky, Maine, Hawaii, Virginia and Wyoming were estimated. Though it was the 150th straight week that applications for benefits remained below the 300,000 threshold.

Labor maket stats show jobless rate at 4.1 percent which is the lowest in 17 years. At the same time some companies have reported huge difficulties in finding qualified workers. With labor market nearing full employment, 5.9 million job openings are available in the country. Hoping positively on these stats labor market is showing good strength and only in coming weeks it will be better.
