I don't agree with people when they say that low wage workers should just "get a better job" when the work done by them is arguably the most important work in our country. Without a steads supply of low wage work we wont have any materials, resources, commerce, or entertainment. If everyone just got a better job it would not only cripple our economy but it would cripple our society. Everything would come to a grinding halt. No food, no one to sell it, no one to buy it. you can't just tell people in low paying jobs to get a better job, because you are affectively confirming that: yes that job must be done, but whoever does it should live in poverty.
It's a flawed argument because if you pay them more for their work, and have less of M_0 being hoarded by billionares then our gdp would shoot through the roof. We would be able to buy more if we got payed more. Companies are all fucking pissed that no millenials are buying their products then they proceed to pay 400,000 workers poverty wage. You CANNOT survive on minimum wage in this country, yet we rely so heavily on their work that they turn our entire economy. You can't just not have low income workers, they're necessary and they should not be living in poverty
admitting that low income work must be done for the survival of capitalism is a policy failure, and its the bourgeoisies fault. We are entering late stage capitalism and we are going to have the biggest depression of all time if we don't start taxing the rich and don't start forcing them to pay their workers
