I've just come into some very confidential information about Poloniex, namely its procedure for deciding on when to freeze deposits and withdrawals of Steem.
It goes like this:
Poloniex employees in the office...
"Hey John?"
"Yes, Peter?"
"Have we finished clearing up that backlog of missing payments from the last time we froze deposits and withdrawals?"
"Yep, I did the last one about an hour ago, Peter."
"So, there's nothing stopping us from freezing everything again?"
"Not as far as I can see, Peter."
"OK, let's go for it!
Sarah interjects,
"Can I do it this time? You two always have the most fun. It's unfair!"
"OK, Sarah, you can do it. Just press that button there."
Sarah presses the button and all three start dancing around the office chanting, "Payments are frozen. Payments are frozen."
Peter puts his hands up to stop the other two.
"OK guys", he says "This time let's make everyone wait a little longer."
At that, Sarah takes a bottle of whisky from her desk drawer, John magically produces some weed from out of thin air and Peter decides that, as he's the boss, it's time to go on holiday.
