Indian Summer
25ºC WEATHER IN OCTOBER ☀️
Can you believe this weather we're having in (mid) October?
It actually hit 25ºC in London yesterday, and possibly even hotter elsewhere on the island. I went out in a light jumper but I had to take it off after walking for 15 minutes and getting my blood flowing. Thankfully I had my backpack on so I was able to tuck the jumper away in that, otherwise I'd have gotten really sweaty and uncomfortable. In these parts, we call this an "Indian Summer".
I am not complaining about good weather by the way. Who doesn't like a nice warm day, especially if you can do a bit of work in the park? Mind you the park was packed yesterday, even though it was a working day. Granted most of the people there were women, probably stay-at-home mums, mums on maternity leave and home keepers, judging by the number of them that had a buggy and little ones. So, basically, even though it was packed, it was relatively calm and quiet.
Unfortunately the park cafe was closed so I had no access to the good brew, but it was still nice haha. I should have taken my own. The cafe is operated by volunteers so sometimes they don't have any staff to open it.
The dog situation in these parts has also improved somewhat. I've noticed an increase in the number of people keeping their dogs leashed in the public parks, especially the ones with young children running around. We've had some incidents in the UK recently where people were mauled by dogs. The culprits have almost always been American Bully dogs. The UK government is considering banning these dogs altogether but, as usual, it isn't really the dogs fault. Rather, the dog owners that have either refused to train the dogs properly, or incite the behaviour in their dogs. Most dogs are a reflection of their human companions I find. I've actually seen American Bullies that are quite gentle and tolerant. Likewise I've seen Chihuahuas that are crazy little beasts.
I wonder when we're going to see the repercussions of this good weather. The yin-yang effect unfailingly happens where we get a storm or something similar following unreasonably good weather in these parts. I just hope it isn't as bad as this weather is good 😀
Peace & Love,
Adé
