Spring Is Almost Here

I got another reminder that Spring is almost here. There is an Amazon report that I look at periodically. It usually runs around midnight, somewhere in the United States, and I usually see the report around 9.30am my time. All of a sudden, the report ran about an hour earlier!

Parts of the United States change to summer time before we do. I think it's a couple of weeks or so. It means the time difference briefly reduces by 1 hour until we change ours here. Once that happens, the days seem even longer since the day starts earlier.

It's all arbitrary, of course, but when that happens, it marks the start of Spring, officially. In real life, of course, there is no hard line dividing the two seasons. Rather, one season gradually merges into, and becomes the next. Already the blossoms have been announcing the arrival of spring. Mammals are birthing their offsprings everywhere and the days are getting longer. The equinox is almost upon us in a few days after which the days will be officially longer than the nights until the Summer Solstice (in the north).
