Have you ever seen a kid who doesn't like painting what he or she drew? Apparently not. I haven’t either, instead. But as the years goes by, we chaos our mind with fears, doubts and self-deprecating thoughts. We never know how much power we give to negativity when we limit ourselves.
We’ll never get that job we’ve always wanted because our nay-saying thoughts has made us doubt our abilities. We'll never be in a relationship because we always feel were not good enough.
We’ll never risk abandoning our job in order to chase the life we've always wished simply because we can’t get over our mental barrier that claims we’re too unimportant, weak, and too dumb. We’ll never be able to clearly see our inner ability and capability because we find it difficult to dare the question and the voices up in our head.
But it's time to say ''enough is enough!'' stop these limiting factors and come to a place of sanity, excitement and love about life, work and ourselves.
So…how exactly do we achieve that?
This steps below will be hard for some; the only way to make it easier is simply practicing and practicing till you're good at it. Here are a few ideas on how you can get started.
- Substitute every negative thought with a positive one irrespectively.
Whenever a negative thought creeps into your mind, quickly replace them with a positive thought. For instance, when someone writes a phrase you don't like on a blackboard, all you need to do is simply get up, erase what he/she wrote and write what you like. - See the positive side of every situation
Regardless of how negativity has surrounded us. We should always be able to view the situation from a positive perspective. Although this might be a little bit harder to put into practice, which does not mean it’s impossible.
By mentally holding on to something positive, you'll be able attain positivity, whether this be family, partner, well-wishers, friends, your faith, nature, someone’s sparkling eyes or whatever glitter of beauty. If you seek it, you will definitely locate it. - Change the negative images you allow to enter your mind
How you see your surrounding and yourself makes a big difference to your thinking faculty. It is like watching a movies that only frustrates and saddens you, and completely pulling you down. Quit that movie , throw it away and insert a new, better, more hopeful one instead.
So, rather than abiding in the dark , negative thinking, constantly build and focus on positive, light and colorful images, situations and thoughts in your mind a few times a day.
Conclusion
Apparently, being persistent and constant makes you improve positively on yourself, the mind will automatically reject negative thoughts and welcome only the the positive ones.
Never forget, you are what you think you are. We are therefore a product of the mind. This is reason enough to be more proactive about whatever is going on in your head.
