Over the years I've got a bad reputation, but I have to protest it!
I was just doing my job. It's not my fault that my boss wanted me to kill the firstborn of the Egyptians! What could I do? Say no to him?
Another thing they want to put on me is that incident when my boss tried to kill Moses. Sure, I was there, having a nice walk with the boss when we ran into Moses. The boss went ballistic and tried to kill him. No idea why, tbh.
Good thing that he failed or they'd be talking today how I, Mastema, killed Moses!
Sure, you can doubt that... you may ask how is possible that such a powerful guy failed to kill a man, but he did fail. Draw your own conclusions about the veracity of his public image, you wouldn't believe me if I told you the truth anyway.
He tripped and fell, so Moses had time to run away. As simple as that, but you won't believe me cuz you believe his hype. By the time I helped him stand up, Moses was nowhere to be found.
Anyhow, here we are today... I am the bad guy for following the orders and the boss is all loving, just and caring guy... It doesn't matter that I did what I did cuz he ordered me. Oh, no...
Everybody is pretending to love him cuz we all know the alternative. If you don't follow his orders to love and worship him, he'll fuck you up proper... but he's the good guy!?
Nobody has the balls to stand up to the boss...
