A Hiker (My) Story :)
After finishing MT. KATAHDIN (respect) I consider myself a HIKER now. MT. KATAHDIN (BAXTER PEAK) allures CRAZYYYYYY hikers from all over the world to give her merciless trails a try. Most of the trails are build of massive blocks of slippery granite. One wrong step and you can plummet thousands of feet to an untimely end. From start to top (even way back to bottom) the level of difficulty keeps increasing. Because of one closed trail I had no other option to take a longer route which made this hike 12 miles [although Samsung Gear Fit 2 says 32000 foot walk ~ 16 miles] instead of planned 9 miles. Spent like f****** 12 hours (half day). MT. KATAHDIN true elevation is ~3800 feet (although Peak is 5269 ft) which makes this GIGANTIC one of highest hike in North East US.
My determination (in short Adrenaline!!) is what gets me through this incredible adventure. My muscles screamed, and cramped many times but the adrenaline screamed louder and was rushing throughout my body. This is what I call pushing your limits. I feel handicap but ACCOMPLISHED.P.S. MT. Personal Experience:This hike is not for everyone and think twice before you plan especially a way through CATHEDRAL and KNIFE EDGE. People with Acrophobia please stay away. Make sure you call park rangers ahead of time and ask for open trails else it will turn a nightmare for you. Weather is super critical and will mess up your plans which happened to me last year (June 2016).Good luck and feel free to ask me any question if you have decided this unforgettable journey.
