I am brand new to #Hive and introducing myself to you all with some of the crazy things I get up to in #Africa, to begin with. Recently in #Botswana (November 21), we went to visit #farmland that my friend has just acquired and intends to #farm it in the near future. The biggest problem with this country is #water. It barely #rains but, there is a lot of underground water if you can find it.
On one of my #traveltrips to #Zimbabwe a couple of years back, I was shown how to water divine by the local people using a Y-Shaped stick. This technique is something I teach quite often in rural places where hiring a #hydrologist is quite difficult.
On this particular day, the sun was beating down in a village near #Jwaneng and we got to work. My new #friends got the idea pretty quickly and were getting the exact same hits as I was for the water channels. We found several connected underground streams.
When 2 cultures collide like this and we are able to share knowledge, it is always a moment of happiness when the outcome us successful. We created the "Metsi (Water) Dance" shortly after quenching our thirst. It was a time for celebration.
We also find that we share the same type of humour with the #internet making the #world a very small place, if you have seen Khaby Lame on #TikTok you will recognise the funny side of what we created. This moment truly made me laugh on this day and we mean no disrespect to professional metsi finders.
Africa has my heart.
