The Diamond Dot was a bar long gone by the time I got to Shelltown in San Diego, California. Because of this old sign, Diamond Dot what everyone still called the convenience store in the same building where the bar used to be. This sign was on a long pole and visible from all angles. Why the sign for Diamond Dot is in the shape of a triangle is a mystery for the ages.
Shelltown, San Diego is a poor neighborhood with no major stores or chains selling anything. I lived there for a year. It is supposed to be a food desert, but I ate really well while I was there.
This convenience store had some organic and healthy food for sale. A food truck parked outside and sold wonderful, delicious, and cooked-from-scratch Mexican food for very cheap. There were other places with good food too, but this spot was the closest I could get to. Whenever I walked down the hill and saw the Diamond Dot sign, I knew I was about to get something good to eat.
The saddest day ever was when to store owner decided to redo his broken parking lot and the Diamond dot was no more. I’m so glad I got this shot of the sign before it disappeared.
This is my entry for this week’s #killerpix contest with the theme of triangles.
My like changed when I lost "half my size" with natural methods. Anyone can do this is I did. Just ask my and I will help you do it too.
