This recipe was posted early this year at , but we like this shampoo alternative so much that want to share it with you here at
as well.
Ingredients
- 4 Aloe Vera leaves.
- 150 cc Apple vinegar.
- Aromatic herbs as chamomile, verbena, cinnamon, rosemary, etc.
- A glass bottle or another glass container.
Directions
- From each Aloe Vera leaf take the pulp, which is the viscous and transparent component inside.
- Mix everything in the blender along with the vinegar; mix until it has a liquid consistency.
- Transfer to a glass container and then add the aromatic herbs and well... Voila!
Notes
Vinegar
Contains acetic acid, which allows preserving the Aloe Vera. In addition, it helps to empower the aroma of the herbs you may have added. Also, there is no exact amount of vinegar in this recipe, depends on the consistency you are looking for. Personally, we use 150 ccs because we want it to be a paste instead of liquid shampoo.
Aloe Vera
This powerful plant has multiple chemical compounds, some of them help to moisturise the skin, thus moisturise the scalp.
Herbs
The herb you will be using can be just simple aroma or can help with a health condition. For example, cinnamon and rosemary help with hair loss and marigold helps against hard water (chlorine and tartar) and air pollution. Or as in the picture, camomille is very effective in the prevention and elimination of dandruff and helps with an irritated scalp.
There are so many uses for herbs, but that is a whole new post.
Hope you enjoy it!
