There's something about a well maintained classic yacht that just goes straight to my heart.
Euphemia II
Euphemia II certainly fits the bill. She is pictured here tied up at the Burrard Yacht Club's outstation in Garden Bay. I have crossed paths with her many times over the years.
Euphemia II was built in Seattle in 1928 by Schertzer Bros. Her length is 50' with a beam of 11' and she draws 4'3". Her original Sterling gas engine has been replaced with a 6 cylinder Volvo Turbo Diesel allowing her to cruise comfortably at 9.5 knots.
Thanks to her owner/caretakers for maintaining this beautiful example of craftsmanship from a bygone era. "Long may you run".
Thanks for viewing my post. Have a great day!
