(저도 참여한) 드림웍스의 단편 애니메이션 Bilby가 프랑스의 "안시 국제 애니메이션 페스티벌" 폐막 작품으로 공개되었습니다.
Dreamworks Animation announced in 2017 that it had cancelled production on Larrikins, an animated musical feature set in the Australian outback featuring a bilby (rabbit-bandicoot) named Perry. But Perry and some of the other characters will find an audience via DWA’s touching new short, Bilby, which premiered last weekend at the close of France's Annecy International Animation Festival.
원래는 오스트레일리아를 배경으로 한 장편 애니메이션 Larrikins에 등장하는 Perry라는 캐릭터인데요. 2017년 Larrikins 프로젝트가 취소되었는데, 이 캐릭터를 사용해서 단편을 만들었어요.
The production was also used to test some new software that will be used for upcoming feature production. That includes Moon Ray, a light rendering engine; Sprinkles, a tool for scattering debris; Locomation, an animation tool for creating motion; and an upgraded wind system.
지난번에 드래곤 길들이기 3편에 대해 말씀드리면서 언급했던 새 렌더러 MoonRay가 사용된 첫 작품입니다. 이 단편을 만들면서 기능을 테스트하고 버그를 고치고 해서 드래곤 길들이기 3편에 사용중인 거죠.
