I have never eat any thing raw in my life. But when I was travelling Korea, I tried to eat since I knew raw food was also a part of Korean cuisine. My friend brought me to Dongdaemun market to meet an ajusshi. He works near that market and we decided to meet overthere.
We stopped by a restaurant which was really famous with raw food such as beef and octopus. I saw a lot of famous people’s photos on the wall and in that time, there were quite a few Japanese customers eating octopus.
The ajusshi asked me whether ornot I could eat raw beef. I didn’t know but I want to try once. So we ordered raw beef. About 5 mins later, they served for us.
I could feel sweet taste of fresh beef and tasting deliciously buttery yolk. But I also felt chicken spot while biting it since it was raw and really soft. I tried to eat with some side dishes to reduce feeling of something raw in my mouth.
But I love this beef soup. Savoury and balance in term of flavor.
And this pancake too. It is called nokdujoen. It is a Korean traditional pancake. And also a famous one of this market.
I got out of restaurant to buy some kimbap. They said that kimbap here is really special comparing to other kinds of kimbap. They just make kimbap with rice, dried seeweed and vegetable, not but any meat or some ingredients else as others. I bought one box of kimbap.
I didn’t expect a lot since I thought how it can be good without meat inside. But it turned out so delicious. Especially when I dipped it into a special sauce the seller gave me. It seemed to be made from mustard.
Say goodbye to ajusshi with a selfie photo.
Tadaaaa!
