Yesterday was the first time Kucoin has arranged a so-called IGO which means Initial Game Offering. This time they were selling NFTs for Pikaster, a brand new game that will be released later. To be honest, I am not a big fan of these games and of many useless NFTs, but I decided to give it a chance no matter what.
At first, they were selling 3000 NFTs, and in the second round which will be held in three days, they will be selling 15,000 more NFTs.
I was ready in front of my computer and I immediately clicked buy, but then I forgot my trading password, and time went by so as I clicked to buy after 20 seconds I was already late. But, those who placed their order within the first 10 seconds managed to get their hands on one of the 3000 NFTs at a price of $30.
In other words, I missed out on this personally, but I will give it yet another try on April 15th for the second round. I guess I have to be early and buy at once then as well, and the price will then be $60 and not $30 per NFT. No matter what, that might still be a steal if you manage to buy a couple of NFTs at that price.
I don't really like the NFT thing...
To be honest, I would only buy this to get quick profit. I have mentioned it earlier as well, but somehow the NFT business is annoying me. I like the principle, but like I mentioned with STEPN, it just feels incredibly stupid when you have to spend like $1000 in order to buy an NFT required to use a fitness app. That just makes it completely useless for the crowds.
And then there are just so many games out there that would be useless, but because they add NFTs and crypto, they are suddenly supposed to be interesting and good (where they would be thrown in the garbage in the "real world.") Somehow the quality requirement is much lower because we support the crypto industry. So, crazy investors invest thousands of dollars in junk projects and poor games, instead of buying great normal games costing them $10-$50 instead.
Hopefully, with time, we will get really high quality games using NFTs and cryptos as well, but I feel like we still have a very long way to go!
