With even more research being conducted, it's becoming clear cannabis may be the answer for opioid addiction.
Right now, politicians may be able to leverage the crisis as a platform for outlawing recreational cannabis use.
Credible studies have clearly shown a direct correlation between the use of medical cannabis and reduced access overdoses. In fact, the number of opioid overdoses has dropped 25% in the areas with legal medical cannabis use.
Cannabis is not the gateway drug it has been made out to be. It is the exit drug from pharmaceutical and narcotic dependency and addiction.
(Yes, there are cases in which pharmaceuticals are better for patients than cannabis. But, the use of cannabis should still be legalized, as there are individuals for whom it is better.)
