Apparently Youtube tightens the use for citizens of the European Union as of yesterday (September 22nd 2020).
We are expanding age verification in the European Union (EU) according to current regulations, including the Audiovisual Media Services Directive (AVMSD). If a user wants to play an age-restricted video but we can't tell if they're at least 18 years old, they may need to verify their age, regardless of the age specified in their Google Account. A valid ID or a valid credit card is sufficient.
Let's see if Youtube has the capacity to control (and store) the IDs of Millions of European teens. Will Gangster Rap videos be available for under aged children still? Is this the beginning of a Web Pass? What happens if Facebook and Twitter follow with this procedure?
For those kids (or parents) who care about privacy: Hive leads the way!
