First, I'd Like A Word
Power can be obtained in a vast myriad of ways, but real power does not come about by the manipulation of others, or burning out resources at any cost, but comes by mindful design to the bigger picture.
In the land of HIVE at present, some of us may be feeling dis-empowered, angry, or both. I believe this comes honestly by our reaction to the price of HIVE, but also by tolerating incessant voices who rant on at full throttle consuming our time and patience without honoring even a moment to allow the voices of other more tempered stakeholders. It's hard to take the further insult of loudmouths who take liberties to publish what is not theirs to post and leave disrespect in their wake.
Given the rise in temperature in one corner of Hive, I was ready for a break, so it was a good thing indeed that I had a practical need to get out of the flat while I seeking out more drastic solutions to another kind of pest, (see what I did there?), the moth!
That Said, Let's Have Fun
In the photo above I came across this gorgeous set of angel's wings just outside the bank of lifts at the Leeds Marriott after I checked in. One of the meditations that I lead for has a pose that I call, "Angels Wings" which allows for a right robust tanking up of inner power. The crew love it, so I had to grab this shot to share with you.
Here is a full view of the angels wings. Can you visualize yourself there? Feel feel to take the image and throw it into an illustration AI tool and put yourself in the picture. Maybe even recreate the # LEEDS MARRIOTT into a hash tag that is meaningful to you.
In this photo is another example of real power that was created if not in the Leeds Marriott site exactly, then within the block that was known for creating the first generation of ready to wear clothing, mostly for men's suits.
This Hydraulic Power Unit is a bespoke piece of machinery designed expressly for a particular factory floor and would have evenly and smoothly powered the machines used by working hands during the industrial revolution in the North of the UK.
In this model manufactured by Robert Middleton company of Leeds, the steam would drive the pumps, which in turn would pressurize the water or oil, and the pressurized fluid would transmit the power via the pipes to drive the factory sewing machines, industrial textile cutters, and the irons for fabric pressing.
After the close of the factories of the Boar Lane, hotels and Leeds Trinity University took their place. The long city block was renamed Trevelyan Square. A few good coffee shops power up the residents, students, and present-day busy workers. 💪🏽
During my stay, I had need to strike out and find printing services. I couldn't have planned my timing worse. I got totally caught out in a cold rain storm. To take a breather during my chilly soggy walk and shake some of the water off me I stepped up into the vestibule of Flight Club. I would tell you about it, I would, but we don't talk about Flight Club. 😉
100GBP later 🤯 I have my print job in hand and I'm back at my hotel's bar for a much needed hot cappuchino made with coconut milk and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Sorry, no photo. I drank it up before I captured the photo. How rude!
The professional treatment for the moths did take place today, so I was able to return back to my flat. The two bedrooms and service closet are not to be disturbed so I'll be sleeping on the sofa tonight.
In the photo above, is my desert that came with the 3-course meal as part of my stay package each night. Yes, this gorgeous sweet, creamy cake is none other than a Tiramisu from Gino D'Acampo. My evil plan was to have them box it up for me so I could enjoy it while hosting Creative Work Hour today. It tasted even better than it looks!
Believe you me, after eating every creamy bite, I felt empowered!
Thank you for coming along with me on my own power trip into historic fashionable Leeds. Now it's time to Power Up my 6 HIVE for 6 February. 💪🏽
Much love! 🥰
